The quest (Affinity to War) starts with the cleric trainer in Hathor Zhi.

You must speak with Donovan (at Donovan's Roost) in CIS about a blade of opression (sic), and he of course gives you a quest to complete. (Blade of Oppression)

The quest requires that you collect a broken cutlass (which is taken from the 4dot 22ish Infineum Slave Warders which walk on the far side of the northern infineum mines near the horseman encampment and the altar of ages) and two pieces of infineum ore (which come from the same groundspawns as the ore for the first CIS quest for the cloak). Handing these to Donovan updates Affinity to War and completes Blade of Oppression.

Returning to the cleric trainer in Hathor Zhi completes the quest.

The abilities granted by this Affinity include (highest versions of all are granted at 50):

Blood Hammer I - V : Finisher for 400% + Scaling Damage
Hammer of Carnage I - IV : Probably a finisher, 400% + scaling damage (I assume it is a finisher after Blood Hammer)
Truncheon of Ghalnn I - III : I assume this is a finisher, 400% scaling damage (would seem to follow Hammer of Carnage)
Avatar of Ghalnn : +20% damage, +10% crit, Immune to Knockback and Stun

In addition there is a new stance granted:

Aspect of the Destroyer

+30% damage
+10% accuracy
+15% block
-75% healing

This stance seems excellent for when the cleric needs minimal healing in order to accomplish their current goals. (Such as in a group with another healer, killing 2dot mobs solo, taking on 3dot content solo/duo . . .

Great mate.
Can you solve one more doubt?
Now that you got Affinity War, are you still able to obtain other affinities?
Thanks

I haven't tried and don't plan to at the moment. I assume you cannot. The way the quest text was written and the process which was undertaken leads me to assume that this will be impossible. I am sure someone will confirm that eventually.

very cool =) Thanks for the info.

Any idea if affinities are race / faction based or if you just need to talk to a particular trainer?

Iraomi wrote:

Of course they are faction based. You can't expect to walk into a town where you're KoS and have a little chat with the trainer after all!

Beyond the 100-200 points of faction you'll need to become non-KoS in some cases (unless you've done something RP . . . like my DK killing an NT factioned broker) you don't need a specific amount of faction.

Is there a list of all the affinities and their bonus'? The wife is interested in a couple options.

The best I found seems dated and incomplete:

If you can only pick one, then I want to see if the Dev's took out Finch. The stats on that look great for PvP. Speed buff/lev/underwater breathing. Immunity to Roots, Snares. Increased potency for root spells. Pretty much everything I can ask for on PvP, maybe I get a snare to.
