For those who need help with Bard Song macros

FYI for those who are having difficulty with macro'ing a bard song .. it is very very easy... just do this

/playsong "Name of Song here" that simple... just trade "Name of Song here" for the exact title you put in when you saved your song in the book.. i.e. "Damage" isn't the same as "damage" has to be verbatim.

Second.. if you want to equip an instrument along with the song at the same time you do this. I'll include my particular case

/playsong "Run"
/wear "Hand Drums"

Then when you hit run to get away from that awful pull you just did it automatically equips your drums for that extra boost of speed.

You should always change your combat form when youi macro. Here are some macro's from Revel's excellent Bard guide that used to be on the forums.

Offense War Song
Description: Switches to offensive stance, dual wielding and plays you war song.
Macro:
/wear "Weapon Name" primaryhand
/wear "Weapon Name" secondaryhand
/playsong "War"
/combatformset "Dance of Blades"

Defense
Description: Switches to Water Dance stance, weapon & parry dagger, detaunts and place defensive song,
Macro:
/cast "Calming Lullaby"
/wear "Weapon Name" primaryhand
/wear "Parry Dagger Name" secondaryhand
/playsong "Defense"
/combatformset "Water Dance"

Run Speed
Description: Changes to drums, water dance stance, and plays run speed song.
Macro:
/wear "Hand Drum" primaryhand
/playsong "Selos"
/combatformset "Water Dance"

The song name appears in the list to the left after pressing the Save button. Click this song name, then drag and drop it over your toolbar button. It adds the /playsong "xxx" macro there and also displays automatically the correct icon for the melody in this song.

it is case sensitive and you need the actual quotes in there and you need primary hand afaik.

Dont know if its EU server or what but my macros dont work, let me past them for you guys:

hmmm it could be an EU thing. Try it without the primaryhand and see if that works. If anything then both items should try and equip the same hand and then it is just getting the syntax down for that part.

They work fine for me on the EU server.

One thing I would say though, I had problems when I used cut n paste then edited the macro to suit. Kept failing but when I typed them out from scratch no problems.

Good point; Always type out the macros fresh or at least copy them to notepad first.

You can drag the songs from the song book onto the hotbar and it makes your macro's for you (doesn't load the instruments mind).

yea i found out that the Bug was that you cant paste in new text in a macro (for some reason the macro stop work then :confused: ).
