21.1. What are these Spheres?
There are three "Spheres" in Vanguard: Adventuring, Crafting. and Diplomacy. The Crafting Sphere-- being independent of the Adventuring Sphere--allows you to broaden your character in the game. The Crafting Sphere has several parts.
In the Crafting Sphere, you have both Harvesting Classes and Crafting Professions. Both of these reside in the Crafting Sphere, but are entirely independent of each other: if you want to do crafting you don’t have to harvest The Harvesting Sphere will contain classes, which you will select upon character creation.

21.2. Do the Spheres Share Stats and Experience?
The various spheres of gameplay will have their own statistics at this point in time. We chose this approach to avoid the issue of "Every Warrior works metal in crafting, and every bard plays a diplomat".
We feel that having the statistics related among all spheres ultimatly limits class combinations in additional spheres.

The statistics are not shared across the spheres of gameplay. You will not get an adventuring weapon that adds to your crafting statistics, etc. Your crafting statistics have no affect on your ability as an adventurer.

The "death" mechanic is handled on a contextual per sphere basis. You do not suffer and adventuring penalty for failing to forge a sword blade.

Adventuring attributes have nothing to do with crafting, harvesting, and diplomacy. Each sphere has their own attributes this includes harvesting, so the issue of learning faster is not an option within the context that you have expressed it here.
Warriors making potions will happen, wizards chopping down trees will happen, but will they look like wizards when they are doing this probably not considering they should be wearing some sort of harvesting gear but that is the choice of the player. While all spheres exist on their own we are not forcing you to choose one sphere and be excluded from the rest.

Hrm. Not so sure about that because in Vanguard all attributes are used by all classes. For different things. So one race could have a dex bonus which makes his ranger dodge better, but another could have more con, making him tank better, etc. Will one be better than another? Hopefully only situationally. Maybe your ranger with more con and therefore more HP tanks a little more often than the average ranger. That's personality, not superiority, unless the ranger of the other race's bonus isn't also beneficial, albeit in a different way, and perhaps in a different circumstance. – 28 October 2005

21.3. Let me clear something up that everyone seems to be asking. Every character can participate in all spheres of gameplay at the same time?
You do not have to start a character to be a crafter and another to adventure with. []You can be an adventurer and crafter on the same character.

21.4. Do I have to participate in all of them?
No, each sphere of gameplay in Vanguard exists on its own. Adventurers are not required to craft to excel and crafters are not required to adventure or harvest to excel. You want to be a crafter then that is all I will ask you to do. You want to harvest and craft there is nothing stopping you except that harvest will require some degree of adventuring if you don’t want to be killed.

21.5. Will there be multi-sphere content?
We have many quests which require crafters to seek the aide of an adventuring group and/or a renowned diplomat (multipshere content) planned. We also have much crafter-centric stuff too.
The developers of the different spheres get together often when we are looking to tie together storylines or create multisphere quests. It's important to work together to make the process seem whole, rather than disjointly put together by multiple people. - 11 November 2005

Yes. In multi-sphere content, generally all spheres win and take home prizes. Once in awhile you will obtain an item that's useful in a different sphere than the one you are working in. - 19 November 2005
