I couldn't agree more, I have been noticing a lot more questions being asked recently while playing on Halgar, and have tried to answer any questions that I was sure of the answer. One thing that I haven't seen, much to my relief, is people responding with dumbarse comments or being rude. I hadn't made the connection with the reactivated accounts, I can obviously be a bit slow sometimes, but if this is the reason then it is a good thing and everyone playing the game should do their best to encourage others to see how good Vanguard is.

I'm glad to hear the issue may not be on all the servers. That would be good news.

On Xeth this weekend, it was a little out of control at times. The reactivation has definitely brought back some players that are falling in love with Vanguard again though, so it's been a good thing for sure.

Now if we can just keep the damage to a minimum

Thanks for the always interesting post. I have a different experience in that I gave up on the general chat channel months ago. I could not take the childish chatter. I am much happerier just listening to my guild chat. In my experience, I have asked for help many times and always gotten it. Crafting in particular was a hard learning curve, but the craft channel was great. I never got a snarky remark. Once in a great while, someone sends me a tell with a question and I always try to answer as best I can. So while I agree with everything you say, I just cannot stand to read the general chat channel in the hope of seeing an sane question. Maybe you could do a poll to see how many players have turned off general chat. I bet it is a lot, which may leave just the asshats and you in channel.

I am back after a few months hiatus and so far am loving Vanguard. To the point I plan on resubscribing when the free period is done. I try to find answers in other places before I ask in-game. I am in a guild so if someone is on from the guild I will ask them first. So far though when I have asked the general populace I have been greeted with good answers.

I see comments like this atleast 10 times an hour. Sometimes with a bit more explicit language.

As a fellow Xethian (would that be right?) I can relate, Thestran General was rediculous yesterday....but there WAS a larger part of the population engaged in telling the few flamers to shut the hell up.

And truthfully, there has been an unfortunate influx of the playerbase that we all love to hate, too...so you kinda have no choice but to take that into effect.

Regardless of any of that, I'm ecstatic at the popullation "boom" (using that term loosely obviously) and what it could mean for the game!

Overall, I think we've had more good players return than asshats, so that is a good thing.

Obviously, the chat over the week bugged the hell out of me.

And while I can certainly understand the desire to turn off regional chat, I can't do it. Many players that need help don't have a guild to rely on for assistance. Believe it or not, there are actually quite a few people looking for help, and fortunately, I'm not the only one out there trying to lend a hand LOL

I think the reactivation has been a great success, I just can't wait for it to end so the dillweeds that don't want to pay $15 a month just to complain about a game will finally be gone, hehe.

I've got to admit that those are the ones that confuse me the most - those that take the time to install the game, the patches, and even after deciding they don't like it, keep logging in to complain about it or talk about how game X is so great. If I ever get to the point where I don't have anything better to do than to log into some game I hate for whatever reason, please find some way of tracking me down and unplugging my computer LOL

Edit - you were also correct about the craft channel. I finally decided to give it a shot this weekend and the players on that channel were very friendly and helpful!
