Take A Deep BreathIn this week's newsletter, Dalmarus discusses the absurd idea that players insist on instant fixes and demands that the game be made perfect for them immediately. Until then, no one is allowed to sleep!

Yeah pretty much. I made a conscience effort last week to make a thread saying thank you to the devs/admins/etc of the VG team for the awesome job they did, and more importantly (to this sub) the AWESOME communication during and after the patching.
We already have a hotfix patch scheduled for this week, and they have already brought the servers down once since to try to hotfix the lag concerns.
The funny thing is, my thread barely got a moment's notice. A very select few actually cared enough to agree (or disagree). Then look at the threads that are 10 pages long.
Oh well.Huralagos
Might want to check the link for the newsletter ..... all I am getting is a page with list of other articles and guides. The title at the top is the "Gimme, Gimme" of the Newsletter .... just no newsletter![]()

I have no issue with game developers working a modest 60-80 hour week and then going home at the end of the day.
I do wonder what happened with APW to cause these lag spikes. I mean, the area was tested pretty throughly both internally and externally. Do I think this is a sign SOE doesn't care about the game? No way. It's just a mistake.
Vanguard developers need to fix this ASAP, but I don't think anybody has to work 24-hour shifts. It just needs to be prioritized as the top fix until it is better.LadyG
Dalmarus, I wanted to thank you personally for pointing out something that I personally find horribly displeasing about people in general: most people tend to think only about themselves, and how they are affected, period.
It's discouraging to be a member of any gaming forum for the simple fact that you cannot seem to read any thread without having to trudge through the sludge to read the things worth reading. Opinions are fine, but when the only thing that comes from everyone's keyboards is bitching, then the level of thought processes drops significantly and bad attitudes start popping out of the woodwork.
The SoE team has done some marvelous things. I understand that Sigil had some problems but to say that what they made was crap, is also a gross inaccuracy. The people of Sigil had some great ideas. They may not have been able to pull everything off, but from them, the start of a fantastic game was born. Let's try to keep that in mind and not bash those people. They tried. We must give them that. As far as SoE goes, they have done a kick-arse job in trying to correct errors and get things working more smoothly. They have every right to go home in the evenings and enjoy a hot meal, the same as any other person out there. The game's bugs being worked out is not an emergency; it is simply something that would improve our enjoyment of the game. We won't die at our desks if a spawn timer is off by an hour or whatever the bug might be. Now, if the game caused an electric shock to surge through your system, and electrocute the person playing the game, then yes, staying at work to resolve the issue immediately might be understandable.
I enjoy reading the thoughts and opinions, the wisdom and mistakes of my fellow players. I just wish that the game forums out there were more positive instead of the type of whining that is more commonly heard from spoiled 4 year olds.
I encourage everyone to try and remember that the world does not revolve around our play time. Please give credit where credit is due. If you have something positive and encouraging, please post away. If you're in a bad mood and feel the need to vent, please try to do so in a constructive manner, as Dalmarus has done. And, when you find a whiny post in a thread you're reading, rather than responding, please try to ignore the post, so that the threads do not continue to all end in muck.

I havent seen anyone asking for people to work 24/7 but I do understand some of the players frustrations with the issues in APW.
When I came home on R&R in September, I had the opportunity to do some raid testing with my guild. Lag was bad then and crashes/disconnects were horrible. Sometimes we had 4-5 people out of 18 crashing within moments of one another.
I witnessed this first hand in September and continued to read posts from other testers who had the same issues. The devs kept telling people the issues were fixed so now that APW is live and having the same problems it is like a slap in the face to all those who tried telling the devs it had issues.
Honestly I think the devs have done a wonderful job of fixing things and making the game more fun but they have been slow in learning that they need to listen to thier players.
