About me: Goron <Gothic>

I am an Orc Dreadknight on Gelenia. I am working as a Blacksmith with the Armorsmith specialisation.

You can find me in the /craft channel along with other qualified and nice people to chat up if you have additional questions. If I run into questions in this chatroom which might be a good addition to this FAQ I will include them on my next update.

latest content update 3/5/07

1 - Kill on Sight

1.1 - What does KoS mean?

KoS can be explained easily. You chose a race that has old, long time enemies. Orks, Dark Elves and Goblins are not welcome in many parts of the world. So are other races. Dwarfs don't like big humans, Kurashasa don't like the gnomes and so on. The list of KoS Factions was posted during the beta. I took the information and put it into this spreadsheet about KoS

1.2 - How do I get of that KoS List?

You have to gain reputation with the factions to become friendly with those people. The amount of faction points for a faction to stopp killing you and answe all your /hails differs. To see how much faction you need, use the command /showfaction and look up the faction for the region you want to enter.

For example as an orc you start with a full rating of -8350 for Bordinar's Cleft. Therefore you will need to get a dynamic rating of +351 to enter Bordinar's Cleft without being attacked. (full rating of -7999)

Your Dynamic Rating represents the amount of Faction you got since you started playing.

Your Full Rating represents the actual value at this moment.

To check your racial default rating, just calculate this (full rating - dynamic rating)

Recently the necessary amout of faction was lowered, which means that the default values for those factions you start as enemies have been set to a less negative value. This means you need about 100 faction points less then before this patch.

1.3 - Where can I get faction points?

The easiest way I found so far is to kill low lvl stuff that gives you faction.

For example killing the Gataro Lizard thingies southwest of Tanvu gives you faction with Ca'ial Brael, Tawar Galan - Foreign Visitation Area and The City of Tanvu. I will try to gather informations for faction grinding spots witl locations and levels later on.

You might as well finish Workorders in an outpost that is linked to the Faction you want to earn points with. Check out 2.3 - a for more info.

2 - Continental Style

2.1 - How do I learn <continent>s recipes?

If you are from a foreign continent, you will need to complete the Continental Style Quest for that continent first. To complete this quest you have to create some Items for the Quest NPC as well as travel to 3 major crafting trainers for your profession. The items for this quest require a crafting lvl around 13 or 14. (I was told that lvl 13 artificers had to try a few times before they were able to complete it)

If you are on your home continent or completed the continental style Quest, you need to do the different quests for the different tiers of armor on the continent from which you want to learn the recipes. For example you will have to complete the Amateur Crafting Quest in Tanvu for your Kojan recipes and the Amateur Crafting Quest in Khal to get Qalia's recipes.

Furthermore you need to gather a necessary amount of artisan faction to get the recipes from the trainer. This means after completing the tier quest you might not get all the recipes because you are still lacking some artisan faction with that continent.

For example as a Thestran Carpenter you need 100 faction to do the Qalian Amateur quest and have 150 faction upon completing it but you won't receive Qalian barbed staff until you reach 200 faction. You need 200 faction to do the Qalian Apprentice quest and have 250 faction upon completing it but you won't receive Qalian dry club until you reach 300 faction. (thanks, Belthize)

2.2 - How do I get those quests?

You need a set amount of artisan faction in the region where you try to get this quest as well as the appropriate level in your crafting profession. If you have enough faction and crafting lvl for the quest, your trainer will send you to the required NPC (tier 1 quest is "Seeking the trainer")

tier 1 - lvl 11 - <100> - amateur

tier 2 - lvl 21 - <200> - apprentice

tier 3 - lvl 31 - <300> - initiate

tier 4 - lvl 41 - <400> - journeyman

2.3 - How do I get more faction points with those crafter factions?

There are two ways to increase your faction with any city artisan faction and continental artisan faction. You can complete workorders to get artisan faction. You will get 1 point of artisan faction for both the city that you work in and the continent that this city belongs to. If you decide to work in an outpost, you will get 2 points of artisan faction for the city that trades with this outpost and the continent this outpost belongs to.

The other way is to complete crafting quests. Completing a tier quest on your own continent will reward you with 100 faction points. On foreign continents you will only gain 50 points of faction for the tier quests and the continental style quest. Other Crafting Quests might reward you with small amounts of artisan Faction as well.

2.4 - Is it possible to learn all recipes for my crafting profession? All tiers on all continents?

Simply put - yes.

You have to complete the "continental style" Quest of every continent to get the tier quests. This will mean some work because you will most likely be KoS in at least one city on each continent that you have to visit in order to complete the quest. Furthermore you will need to get some artisan faction to recieve the quests and later on the recipes.

2.5 - Where do I have to go for those quests?

Thestra -

starts in New Targonor

you have to go to Bordinar's Cleft, Leth Nurae, and Tursh

Qalia -

starts in Ahgram

you have to go to Hathor Zhi, Khal and Mekalia

Kojan -

starts in different cities for each class.

Artificers: Ca'ial Brael

Blacksmiths: Martok

Outfitters: Tanvu

you have to go to Tanvu, Ca'ial Brael and Martok

2.6 - Which Factions do I need for the Continental Style Quests?

Thestra

- 100 Thestran Artisan Faction

- New Targonor

- Bordinar's Cleft

- Leth Nurae

- Tursh

Qalia -

- 100 Qalian Artisan Faction

- Ahgram

- Hathor Zhi

- City of Khal

- City of Mekalia

Kojan -

- 100 Kojan Artisan Faction

- Tanvu

- Ca'ial Brael

- Martok

2.6 - How do I know how much faction I have?

Either you use the command /showfaction or you do something that changes the faction that interests you (which is of curse possible but most of the time more complicated ^^)

3 - Faction Grinding

3.1 - Crafting Outposts

As mentioned before, completing WorkOrders in an outpost will give you 2 Points of City Artisan Faction with the City that trades with this Outpost as well as 2 Points of Artisan Faction for the Continent. Additionaly you get 10 Faction Points for the City that thrades with this Outpost.

This means that Outposts can be used to both get artisan faction for the crafting quests and recipes as well as to be able to enter a city whose citizens and guards would otherwise kill you on sight. This is a good way to get rid of the KoS status with lvl 1 Crafting Chars if you are able to reach the outposts, which might turn out to be a difficult task in some cases.

Wraith, I am not trying to belittle your efforts, really

The point is, there is NO alternative for 'evil' races to gain this very necessary 'Thestran Watch' faction.

Where every other race, on both other continents, offers a valid method for a pure crafter to obtain the needed faction, Thestra does not, as far as I've been able to find.

As for suggested places to complete:

Fisher's Pen: Several red-con guards, right next to the crafting tables. Even assuming I *could* get the work orders from the Taskmaster without getting dead, I am supposed to take these WO to another area to create, then run back (possibly a great distance) and turnin, to get the next set of 3 WO.

This is untenable. In Kojan, one can safely craft their little hearts out at Tawar Galan, regardless of race or class or origin. In Qalia, one can go to the Refugee Outpost, and do the same. I am, so far, unable to find any area in Thestra, except Tursh/Rindol Field where I killed a couple hundred Repcaps, that I can get near a crafting table that has a taskmaster offering work orders.

Southwatch : Same issue. The entire area is patrolled by roaming KoS characters. The area is also populated with static KoS characters, including the utilities vendor. I'm supposed to bring enough utilities with me to complete 50+ Work Orders?

Orcs, Goblins, Dark Elves and others need a place to obtain the needed faction. I was told you didn't *have* to be an adventurer. I'd like not to be forced to be.

At 15, I cannot do battle with the few mobs that give the TW faction. The lowest are the bugbears at 15. The levels range up into the 20s. This is a death sentence for me and others like me.

I'm not asking for a 'gimme', Lords know I don't want an 'I win' button. I'm asking for the same chance to 'prove myself' to the residents in Thestra that I did in Kojan, and that my Thestran and Kojanese characters get in Qalia. A place to grind work orders and gain local faction without fear of having my head ripped off. As the system stands now. I *must* level up, despite not being particularly interested in doing so, for the ability to stand next to a table and grind out the WO for the crafter faction to actually get and complete the quests. And it seems horribly unfair.

garzahd — February 15th, 2007, 02:54 PM

Couple things to fix:

- (Google spreadsheet) Dark elves are not KOS in Ahgram, despite the dev post indicating otherwise

- (Google spreadsheet) There are a couple other factions that are of interest to crafters, but not specific to one town. Two that come to mind are "Upside Alliance" (needed for Angoer Bunker, DE start with -8100) on Qalia, and "Thestran Watch" (needed for Fisher's Pen, DE start with -8100) on Thestra. It will require a ton of compliation work to get input from the other races on this, but it would be helpful. Also, Southwatch wants to kill Dark Elves as well, not sure what faction they're on, but I sure as hell can't kill the L33 mobs I'd need to fix it. It's not BC, they like me.

- There in another outpost in 74440, 91441, 4186 in The Infineum Plateaus (-15, -12). It gives +2 Qalian, +10 Hathor Zhi, +2 Hathor Zhi Artisan. It's a very quiet place, perfect for good FPS and low crash rate. Contains a mailbox but not an exchange broker.

- You do not need any continential artisan faction in order to pick up the Learning Style quest. However, you will need the faction in order to learn any recipes once the quest is over.

Belthize — February 13th, 2007, 09:36 AM

Gon, something else you might add since I see it posted as a bug many times.

You do not automatically learn recipes upon completing tier quests, recipes have faction requirements. On your home continent this is rarely an issue if you only craft there .. ie you have way more faction than you need.

On a remote continent it is an issue.

While there are some missing recipes in most cases failure to recieve recipes upon completing remote continent tier quests is a function of insufficient faction.

I don't know specfically what faction is required for what recipes but in general try to get to the next 100 .. so after finishing amateur get to 200 artisan faction, after finishing apprentice get to 300 artisan faction.

Yalum — February 10th, 2007, 07:18 AM

Here is a faction hit for the Tar Janashir outpost (Qalia, two chunks south of Mekalia). It's from before the last patch, unfortunately, but you don't even have TJ listed, so better than nothing.

[02:37:57] Your Mekalia Artisans faction changed by 1 (91)

[02:37:57] Your Qalian Artisans faction changed by 2 (403)

[02:37:57] Your Mekalia faction changed by 1 (112)

And Tawar Galan (Kojan, one chunk west of CB):

[01:31:29] Your Dahknarg Artisans faction changed by 2 (134)

[01:31:29] Your Kojan Artisans faction changed by 1 (52)

[01:31:29] Your Martok Clan faction changed by 10 (420)

[01:31:29] Your Gulgrethor faction changed by 0 (0)

[01:31:29] Your Port of Martok faction changed by 10 (420)

[01:31:29] Your Ca'ial Brael faction changed by 10 (421)

[01:31:29] Your Tawar Galan - Foreign Visitation Area faction changed by 10 (421)

[01:31:29] Your The City of Tanvu faction changed by 10 (420)

The Kojani style quest apparently starts in a different city for each class. For Artificers, it is definitely CB. I just did it tonight.

Sylence — February 19th, 2007, 11:00 AM

Im a lvl 10 artificer and tried doing the Qalia continent quests. I was NOT able to complete the 3 staves order he asked for at lvl 10 with a +25 artificer buff on.

I saw earlier someone else could not complete this at lvl 13.

Could we please, Please, PLEASE get a lvl requirement for these quests added to the FAQ?

I busted my but all weekend to get faction, ran around and talked to everyone, but I cant finish this quests.

I'd really like to know when to bother trying again. Im NOT going carpenter so I haven't gotten much wood, I'd hate to waste more time gathering wood over and over to try every level just to find out I still cant make it. The quest is listed as Artisian not Carpenter though, and my Artisian is capped for the lvl.

If anyone has done this quests successfully, please list what lvl you were able to complete it at. Im a mommy, I can only play during nap times and after my daughter has gone to bed. Take pity on me pls and give me a hand =)

Thanks all.

New Targonor work order factions:

+1 Thestra Artisans

+2 Dahknarg Artisans

Veskal's Exchange work order factions:

+2 Dahknarg Artisans

+2 Leth Nurae Artisans

+2 Thestra Artisans

+10 Leth Nurae

Charbrook Village work order factions:

+2 Thestra Artisans

I don't know if this is a faction thing or not, but Tanvu and Tawar Galen do not offer me work orders of level 25 and higher even though my continental faction (Kojan Artisans) = 1069. I am a halfling so this is not my native continent. I tend to craft often in Tanvu because it seems to me that Tanvu has way more work orders available at each level than anywhere else.

On my native continent (Thestra), all cities and outposts offer level 25+ work orders (even though my continental faction is 98.

Ticallion — February 27th, 2007, 11:14 PM

Great guide, its helped me alot.

I've got a problem with Thestra though, i've got my continental faction up to 300, went to New Targonor and did the Continental Style quest (Bordinars Cleft, Tursh etc) and handed it in, but the trainer won't give me the next teir quests, such as Amateur/Apprentice?

Read through the guide and its not really clear if I need to grind more faction in New Targonor to recieve the quests from them? Didn't have this problem when I did the Kojan style. Can anyone help with this? Do I need New Targonor Artisans faction ontop of the Thestran Artisans faction that i've already got? Or is the Artificer trainer with the quests in another town? I've already checked Dahknarg and the other town nearby. Thanks!

I'm a level 28 Mineralogist if that helps.

Gon — February 8th, 2007, 08:07 PM

Duhn, thanks for the info

Qaiky, sorry for the misleading informations. I am not able to test this without a certain ammount og hassle so I relied on the information a guild mate gave me.

Thanks for the info about the outpost changes but I saw that myself today. ^^

Siufu, you may unlock either special crafting Quests or recipes or both. I am not sure about this at this point.

Norli, as you are not a native Qalian, you need 100 points of Artisan Faction with Qalia to get the "Learning Qalian Style" Quest in Ahgram. Afterwards you will be able to complete the Quest to learn the Qalia Tier 1 Quest (Armorsmiths are send to Dark Horse Track). After completing this quest you should be able to get the recipes from any Blacksmith Instructor on Qalia.

Burubu — March 8th, 2007, 02:52 PM

very interested report

it helped me a lot. thx !

It just seem there is a small error (maybe it's something that was changed with patchs ?) :

Quote:

tier 1 - lvl 11 - <100> - amateur

tier 2 - lvl 21 - <200> - apprentice

tier 3 - lvl 31 - <300> - initiate

tier 4 - lvl 41 - <400> - journeyman

I'm from Qalia and after i became Apprentice, i went back again to Kojan to do next tier Quest.

I had 265 Kojan artisans faction, and after i did the quest, my specialisation NPC didn't had recipes for me still :P Strange...

In fact for the Apprentice lvl you need 300 faction pts and not 200

then the next recipes allowed are lvl 22.

Melcor — June 9th, 2007, 04:06 PM

Just FYI for those looking for quick Thestran faction...

Quoted from the FAQ...

Leth Nuar

There are mobs called Kaon "whatever" in the area south of Leth nuar. They come in more than 3 flavours, fairies, whisps and humanoids. They are lvl 8-9 and 2dotted.

A little south of Leth Nurae is a reddish rift area where the Kaon things spawn 6-10 at a time and fight against these ghosts guys (the ghosts guys are invincible). Any class that has an AOE can do instant 200 faction here. Just AOE near the ghosts and kill the Kaon which are INSTANT spawn.

I did it with my monk which has an AOE spin attack and got 200 faction in 5 minutes.

Sylence — February 23rd, 2007, 04:21 PM

I have a question.

I have 300+ faction in Qalia Artisians, Im a wood elf.

1000+ Makalia faction

1000 + Khal faction

I have started the continent style quest, I have done my mineralogist quest, but the Craft Master in Makalia wont offer me the tier quest.

I know Im at the right guy (I played a gnome in beta) I can get the Best Artificer quests from the girl? out front but the craft master ( the guy that starts all the crafting quests) wont offer me this quest. (I did do all the begining crafting quests with him)

Is this because I haven't finished the Continent quest?

Any other suggestions?

Thanks =)

Ky — March 12th, 2007, 06:02 PM

Tawar Galan can be *very* tough to find the first time.

As I remember.....

Take the teleporter from Khal, If need be, get a guard to direct you to that 'dock'.

At the end of the dock are 2 guards, stand between them with your back to the water.

Turn about 40 degrees left.

Move forward. You're going to pass a ramp/dock thingy on your left, keep heading for the big tree mostly ahead of you.

Somehow, it manages to hide completely behind this huge tree, from nearly any angle. As you close on it, you will lag out a little (unless you have a more uber rig than *I* can afford )

Sylence — February 20th, 2007, 09:27 AM

Thanks Zumbee and Ky for the info!

Gon, posting it when you get more info would be great, hopefully it will save a lot of frustration for others.

I went gathering last night so I have the wood, thanks =)

I should be able to do the quest by this weekend, then I have to trapse back to Tanvu to do my lvl 11 quest I've slacked on. Anyone know if I can do the Qalia lvl quest before I finish the continent quest? Im being offered horses at the Refugee camp which leads me to believe if I ran my happy butt back to Makalia I'd have the quest waiting for me.

Any ideas?

Gon — February 4th, 2007, 02:23 PM

to check out diplomacy rewards I recommend vanguardtact.com

They have a good guide on the rewards and levers for civic deplomacy. Chatting up your Blackmsith Trainer should increase your city faction and with some luck one of your prestige factions (both diplomacy things)

I don't yet know anything about faction specific recipes.

IMPORTANT

I need faction grinding locations for New Targonor

I need Crafting Outposts for New Targonor

I'm testing WO's and Locations in that area right now so please give me some feedback to help me with my work here.

Kaory — February 6th, 2007, 05:51 AM

Good FAQ - it explains why my fellow crafter friend from Tanvu does not get the Qalian style quest as a lvl 8 crafter. Also I realize we didn't have to sneak into Martok invisible to talk to the trainer.

Now there's a question though: I'm a lvl 7 crafter myself. The FAQ states that you have to be a lvl 11 crafter to get one of the style quests. But I got mine on Kojan nonetheless and could fulfill all parts except for the crafting - the recipe is much too difficult for me. So either the lvl is _not_ a prerequisite actually or this is a bug. Wondering...

Apologies if this is already posted, but how much faction is required ... or better put, how much is excessive on a given continent. I am stuck as a Kojan carpenter, and should have read these forums earlier... it is probably the worst place/craft combo I could have been in retrospect. I am almost 1,000 Kojan faction, but plan to move to the Khal outpost next.

When is enough enough? Is there any benefit from hitting 1k faction for instance, or is everything after 500 or so superfluous for instance??

Cheers,

Lin

I am confused. I am a level 15 Kojani Minerologist. I have completed the Thestran Style quest in NT and received a few Novice Thestran recipes. I want to do the Amateur Quest but I am at a loss to find someone to assign it.

Do I need to raise my Artisan Faction with some other town in Thestra in order to get the quest assigned? I have seen a few other posts in this thread asking the same question but I have not seen a reply.

Do I raise Tursh ot LN artisan faction to 100 in order to get the quest.

Nice thread you have going here.

Quote:

1.2 - How do I get of that KoS List?

You have to gain reputation with the different factions to become friendly with those people.

You need 500 positive faction points for a faction to stopp killing you and answe all your /hails.

I do not think that's correct. The last I checked, if your faction is lower than -8,000 you'll be KOS. Seeing as each race starts with different faction values it's not as simple as gaining 500.

Gon — February 4th, 2007, 04:16 PM

I'll double check that. It has something to do with dynamic and static faction.

Thanks for the advice.

Ok, you have a full rating of -X and a dynamic rating of y

*edit*

your Full rating represents your racial rating (static) + your dynamic rating (not static ^^)

This means if you start with a full rating of -8350 like orks do for Bordanir's Cleft, you have to get a dynamic Rating of 351 to increase the full rating to -7999.

I updated the FAQ

Leiv — February 4th, 2007, 01:34 PM

An idea for the FAQ: how abouts listing the specific crafter NPCs around the world and what the diplomacy level would be for chatting them up? I have no idea what the gains in succeeding the parley would be, but the master blacksmith in BC offers interesting talk topics such as "secret recipes".

Unfortunately the recommended diplomacy level is 500 (with a requirement of 5 crafter presence), so I doubt I could figure out what to get from her within the next few years.

flashcrd — March 12th, 2007, 07:44 AM

Well now I'm confused.. I'm a human from Thes, and just did the "learning Qalia something" quest to get the novice blacksmith recepies.

I have well over 200 Qalia artisans faction, but the NPC doesn't give the Amature Tier quest.

Edit: Ok figured it out.. the amature bs tier quest is at the Dark Horse Track.. then you go back to Aghram for the Apprentice tier start again.

Sure would be nice to get a little more dialogue from these quest NPCs wouldn't it?

Ok, I'm a wood-elf, that moved to Leth Nurae at a very early level, and I have done all my crafting in LN. Do I actually need faction in Ca'il Brael to learn the recipes of the Kojan style?

At 11 i returned to CB to do "seeking the trainer", and I finished that np. But I have never actually gained any faction with Kojan Artisans, just Thestran. If I am a native of CB, do I need Kojan Artisan faction to learn recipes in the Kojan style?

Caduceus — February 22nd, 2007, 08:42 PM

Good information but I feel the devs did not take pvp into account when they came up with these quests. I find it funny that as a good character I have to go deep into the enemy camp on Martok in order to speak with a master artificer there as one of the steps to acquire the Kojani Style. Why not place a master on neutral ground at Tawar Galan as an alternative for those of us on the pvp servers.

Frogilla — February 13th, 2007, 02:21 PM

Sorry if this has already been posted. I didn't see it.

The other day I was farming Gulgrethor faction so I could go into Martok to get my Kojani style.

While I was killing the Gulgrethor Orcs, if I killed the mob in one hit I did not get any faction, but if it took 2 or more hits to kill it I got faction.

I don't know if this is a bug or working as designed.

This week I went back to Southwatch now that I actually have the adventuring levels to kill stuff there, intending to grind out my faction the hard way. To my surprise, the town no longer wanted to kill me (as a dark elf).

So, either this area has changed factions in the past couple weeks, or I'm a real moron for thinking I had enough Bordinars faction when I first got there.

Gon — February 12th, 2007, 06:19 PM

sorry for the missing updates but I have 2 difficult exams this week. I'll see if I can update it tomorrow evening while relaxing from learning IT stuff ^^

Thanks for the provided faction numbers. I'll add them with the next update.

on a note:

Tawar Galan only recently got that crafting stuff added, maybe they are still working on the Wortorder stuff.

korgat — February 25th, 2007, 10:09 PM

Awesome FAQ.

Suggestion - edit the bottom area of the post with info you are currently looking for. 1/1000 people will read the entire thread, especailly as it gets longer, but 9/10 will read the whole OP.

Question - any idea where you can get Gwartak Clan Artisan faction (beyond the 10 or so from doing the first quest/WOs)?

Ky — February 19th, 2007, 06:24 PM

Finishing the 3 staves was a pain at 13... I blew 2 triesat 12, and after level I fouled up one (last stage comps... grrrrrrrrrrrr) got 3 good ones... so nearly 50/50

If you're on thunderaxe, I'd be happy to send you the wood... have 2 artificers and both have quarry/lumber harvest setups..... I'm up to my eyeballs in it!

Tuche — March 14th, 2007, 03:52 PM

there are 2 outposts just near razad ( Qalia )

one of them ( http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa...kanda-asjhani/ )

gives hathor zhi and other 2 factions

but now the second outpost ( http://vg-en.curse-gaming.com/databa...19259/tahreen/ )

it gives tons of faction for almost every big city in kojan . . .

FireMissiles — February 2nd, 2007, 07:46 PM

just to let you know, i got the qalia style quest in Ahgram, and not Khal

and you can gain Tursh and Rindolls field faction in fisherman's something (sorry, forgot the name) NE ish of Tursh (follow the road north from Tursh, then East past the mountains and it's just south of the road in a valley)

F.

Kindjal — February 2nd, 2007, 05:55 PM

You can get Ca'ial Brae and Tanvu Faction by killing the Gataro (level 5-6) just north of Ca'ial Brae.

2 Crafting Quests on the first Platform with crafting stations in Ca'ial Brae. They reward a Tunic of Clarity and a Fiend Hunter's Apron. Given by two NPc's standing at the edge of that round platform.

Theala — February 6th, 2007, 06:11 AM

Update to my last post as I was not clear

Thestra Outposts

Southwatch - w/o's here give you +1 faction to Bordinars Cleft, Bordinars Cleft Artisans and Thestran Artisans

Konarthi Point - w/os give faction to Halgarad/Dahknarg artisan and regular factions as well as Thestran Artisans.

Gon — February 6th, 2007, 10:47 PM

*update*

included New Targonor Faction Mobs (finally)

added some lvl descriptions to faction mob spawns

by the way, I am no longer KoS to any of the playable race factions and nearly finished the last continental style quest (thestra)

and yeah, it's VGTact. I got that wrong. ^^

quaiky — February 8th, 2007, 04:07 AM

after last patch crafting at khal outpost gives 10 city of khal faction and 10 khal foreign quarter faction per completed workorder. so i guess now its most efficient to do workorders at an outpost to get faction to enter city. (you need the continental factions anyway for getting recipes)

Norli — February 8th, 2007, 08:53 AM

Heres a quick question: I'm a level 4-5 crafter hafling and I came to Khal. I completed my training in Khal but I do not yet have access to the recipes. Do I need 100 faction before I can earn any of the qualian style recs or is there no way to learn the basics unless I run back to Tursh?

Birks — February 24th, 2007, 08:13 AM

So the general consensus seems to be that 500 artisan faction is the most you will need for each continent for the foreseeable future in order to get all the recipes right?

Has anyone found any recipes that require city or outpost artisan faction to get?

Zumbee — February 19th, 2007, 03:49 PM

i originally got my first continental style quest at lvl 13 and couldnt complete the staves as a minerologist. I waited till i was 15 and was able to do it no probs. Just done my 2nd continental style quest today and it was a breeze to make the staves at 16.

Ky — February 20th, 2007, 04:55 PM

Konarthi Point

SW Thestra on coast (sorry, forgot the coords ) bank//mail//dock

Halgarad Artisans +2

Dahknarg Artisans +2

Thestra Artisans +2

Halgarad +10

Dahknarg +10

Not incredibly helpful for Thestran continental... but it may help.

Beancurd — March 9th, 2007, 01:20 PM

Actually that's just Kojan from what devs have said.

That area is supposed to end at ~25. So from there you need to go to Anghram or Thestra place.

From my experience in Qualia at 3-4 different OP's there they all scale on up.

Kenelm — March 9th, 2007, 10:17 AM

Great post I use it alot but I have 1 suggestion. You can outgrow an outpost (they stop giving WOs for your level) so i was suggesting we add the crafting range. For example in NT in Kojan at level 28 all you will have is Very Easy WOs.

LaughingOtter — February 10th, 2007, 10:58 AM

I'm doing the Kojani style quest for Artificer now, and keep getting "Low" results on every action trying to do the crafting portion of the quest. Has anyone finished this quest of have any insight into doing the craft portion?

Gon — February 14th, 2007, 07:01 PM

ok, it was time for a major update. I worked on the layout a bit, added all the posted information and eliminated some typos.

See if you find any mistakes or important informations that are still missing.
