On offering it
well, it seems that Oathbreakers in Khegor's End have set up some kind of giant forge, and have been using that forge to help create their own weapons and armor from what materials they dig up out of the mine. I want to know more about that forge, and what they are making down there. Take this rod, and dip it into the hot coals in the forge itself; that will help me determin how hot they are keeping it. Also, bring me whatever hammers they are using with their forge.

Ah, perfect! This is exactly what I was looking for. Well, this is strange. The end of this rod is melted far more than would have expected for as hot as a normal forge would be. And this hammer...I can't be sure what it is made out of, but it is certainly an alloy of some kind. Very strange. Thank you for bringing these back to me. take this as a reward for what you have done.

Quest Steps
Step 1 - Get Quest
Pick up the quest from Prospector Ghudry in Themnwar's Shield.
Step 2 - Get 1 Oathbreaker Smithy Hammer
Go inside Khegor's End, and make your way to the Smithy (use the map if you don't know where the smithy is). Kill

at the smithy, and loot a hammer. They don't drop a hammer every time, but 5 out of 6 people in your group should get one. You will probably have to wait for another set of smith spawns to get everyone their hammer.
Step 3 - Burn the Iron Rod
Now stand next to the smithy, and right click your

in your inventory, dipping it into the coals to test the heat of the forge. You will get a complete notice.
Step 4 - Turn In Quest
Go back to Themnwar's Shield, and turn in the quest to Prospector Ghudry.
