* Use the supplied waypoint to get to the Vermach manor in the Thieves Row (House Vermach). * You will find Alia Tanvager's Moonstone Wand in the Musty Keg at the bottom of the stairs, Margrave Thistle's Favorite Quill Pen in the Simple Jug in the front room on the 2nd floor, and Valik Remniol's Favorite Tome in the Dusty Chest at the top of the stairs. * Return the items their owners. * Count Valik Remniol is in the Lamplighter's District (-35703, 26732, 36142). Gossip with him about "Your Book". * Margrave Alarid Thistle is in the Citizen's Forum (-35851, 32774, 36899) on a balcony at the front of the 3rd floor of his house. Gossip with him about "Your Quill Pen". * High Sorceress Alia Tanvager is in the College of Magic (-50227, 42433, 36044) in a house next to the south exit from the main college building. Gossip with her about "Your Wand". * Return to Duchess Irinia Heartsworn for your reward.

Quest Offering Duchess Irinia looks at you levelly and says, "As you may or may not be aware, House Vermach is made up of thieves, murderers, and general lowlifes. They feign nobility, but there is nothing noble about them. They stole their title, as they steal everything else." "I happen to be aware of three items in their possession that belong to members of the other households. Find those items and return them to their owners, exposing House Vermach as the disreputables they truly are." Count Valik Remniol You approach the man carefully. "Count Remniol?" you ask. Valik's face shoots up from his book. He looks startled. "Yes?" he asks. "You have many fine books," you say. Count Valik nods and says, "I do, yes... They are something of a passion of mine." "It seems as though you are missing one," you say, looking to an empty spot on his shelf. Count Valik lets out a sigh and says, "Yes. My favorite volume, 'Fruit By the Pound,' was stolen from me." "You mean, this volume?" you ask. "Or is this another copy?" You show him the book. Valik looks stunned. "Another copy, another copy?!" he says. "No, there is not another like it left in the world." "Oh, well, then, I am glad to have returned it to you," you say. "You wouldn't believe who stole it..." Count Valik nods and says, "A Vermach, no doubt." "Oh?" you ask. "You knew already?" Count Valik looks at you curiously. "They're thieves. Of course I knew." "And you didn't do anything about it?" you ask. Count Valik looks down and says, "No. The are thieves, and assassins, and thugs. I daren't cross them." Margrave Alarid Thistle You say, "Margrave Thistle, are you missing something?" Margrace Thistle peers and you and says, "I do not misplace anything. I document everything carefully enough that I can always find it." You shake your head and say, "The item I'm referring to was stolen from you." Margrave Thistle's cheek twitches. "You mean my pen?" he asks with a hard edge to his voice. You nod and say, "Yes, your pen." You show it to him. Margrave Thistle goes red in the face. "Thief!" he says. "You thief!" "I am not the thief," you say. "I found it and came to return it to you." "I see," says Margrave Thistle, narrowing his eyes. "Then who stole it?" You say, "I count not say exactly, but I found it hidden away in the house of the Vermachs." "The Vermachs?" asks Margrave Thistle. "What could this mean?" "That they are responsibility for the loss of many people's prized pens, as well as any other nubmers of goods," you say. "And yet everyone seems to trust them as a political power." The Margrave looks down and says, "They have established a name for themselves. We had though they had risen above all of that." "But once a thief, always a thief," you say. Margrave Thistle nods and says, "Pending investigation, that is very true. Now, if you would fill out a few reports for me, and kindly give my pen back." High Sorceress Alia Tanvager You say, "High Sorceress Alia Tanvager, I have something of yours." "Do you now?" asks Alia Tanvager. "And how did it come into your possession?" "I took it back from those who stole it from you," you say, producing the wand. Alia's eyes flash as she sees the wand. "Why, I thought that was gone for good!" she says. "I figured those foul Hilthorns to have taken it and imploded it in some showy ritual of theirs," she mutters. You shake your head. "No, it was not in fact the Hilthorns," you say, "but rather the Vermach." "The Vermach?" asks Alia. "How do you know?" "I found it hidden in their manor," you say. Alia frowns. "But the Vermach have long since sworn off their old ways," she says. "Do you really believe that?" you ask. Alia looks thoughtful. "No," she says after a moment. "I suppose I never really did." "But I am aslo not sure if it was them that did this," she says. "I have only your word upon which to condemn a noble house." She looks at you sharply. "That does not mean that the Vermch have as much of my trust as they did before, however. Seeds of doubt have been planted."
