You say, "While Khal is in our pocket, we can reprioritize many of the legions to stomp out the Aeokor Rebels and to crush the mad king of Stiirhad." Dallaraz Xii says, "Both are acceptable goals for such a price. What did you have in mind for the trade goods?" "That is not my forte," you say. "My job is to convince others that it's a good deal. You reply, "While it cannot, we will have created such a demand for it that the price will increase and nobody will care." Dallaraz Xii smiles. "Well played." He adds, "You will, however, need to secure overland travel routes through Lomshir and deal with the Morduma as well." You say, "I will bribe them with wine and other trade goods, as well as a cut of the profits to ensure they don't get too greedy." "With Lomshir and the Morduma working to defend the caravans from the other tribes, we ensure that nobody will get too greedy and try to raid them." And also let it be known that any tribe who attacks teh caravans will have war declared upon them by Pankor Zhi and the other tribes will be bought off to hunt them down." Prince Hazzan says, "And teh Lomshir are aware of this? I would very much like for them to make a mistake." "They said the same of you, so I would be careful of what happens on these plains," you say. "What about the smaller tribes?" he asks. You say, "What about them? Can you not handle them?" He smiles. Jaluna Fenn says, "The Port Authority is uninterested in trade with the dark elves." "That is a shame," you say. "It would be highly profitable to be able to buy cinmar by the pound for fifty silver." Jaluna Fenn almost chokes. "What?" You say, "Oh, nothing of concern, I was simply thinking aloud. Can you direct me to a caravaneer who might be interested in making overland shipments?" "Don't play coy with me, Simon ," says Jaluna Fenn. "If teh dark elves have cinmar for that price then anyone alive is interested. What's the catch?" You answer, "To secure overland travel, there will be some bills to pay to the Morduma." Jaluna Fenn nods. "Yes, of course. They are like blood flies." "Cinmar is just one of many spices and fineries that Pankor Zhi offers," you say. "However, since no trade currently exists between the two cities, I shall have to inform the Vizier incase there may be some treaty I am unaware of that prevents trade." Jaluna Fenn replies, "Oh, no treaty, just a foreign policy that will soon be amended." You nod. "Good. So, if you support this new spice trade, then please sign the treaty and I shall speak with the Vizier." Jaluna Fenn says, "Of course. With one small caveat." You ask, "What would that be?" She says, "The Lomshir horse lords are notorious raiders as well. If they were to be bought off by Pankor Zhi it would ensure safe travel of teh caravans." You nod and lie, "I believe that is an acceptable precaution, though it will cut into our profits some." Vizier Djuruhat Haimurem You greet the Vizier, "Greetings Vizier Djuruhat Haimurem. With Jaluna's assurance, I bring to your attention a trade treaty with Pankor Zhi." Vizier Djuruhat Haimurem asks, "Trade with Pankor Zhi? Are you serious?" You say, "Indeed I am sir. The horse raiders will kill anyone who dares to travel through their lands." You reply, "Pankor Zhi has convinced them to allow our caravans through, on threat of dire consequences." Vizier Djuruhat Haimurem nods. "Oh! That is very impressive. I mean, if Khal had the military might of teh dark elves, I imagine, er, I mean, I would have done the same." "All I seek from you, Vizier Djuruhat Haimurem, is your approval of the trade agreement," you say. Vizier Djuruhat Haimurem says, "What is it that will be coming into the markets? Anything of particularly exquisite taste?" You say, "Cinmar by the ton, fresh abenberries, as well as assorted, difficult to acquire products unique to Pankor Zhi." Vizier Djuruhat Haimurem says, "Are the prices agreeable with Jaluna?" You nod, "Jaluna has assured me that they will make a fine profit in Khal." "Perhaps a greater profit in Ahgram," says Vizier Djuruhat Haimurem. You say, "That is a good idea, vizier. Then Ahgram will become reliant on Khal for these fine exotic goods."
