Diplomat's Saga: Mercenary Hunt

Equip the scimitar given by Kajen. Proceed to the alley next to the Snake Spit Tavern and locate the contact. Speak to the contact and then return to Kajen in Ahgram when finished. Find the Contact Speak to the Contact

* Speak with Kajen Shandar to obtain the quest. * Be prepared to parley. Travel to the Snake Spit Tavern marked in your journal and locate Lucy the Slasher who stands outside, just east of the tavern at -30335, -17835, 1820. * Wield the Royal Straight-Bladed Scimitar in order to begin to parley with Lucy the Slasher. The parley will not start unless you wield the scimitar, and starts automatically when you do wield the scimitar. * Return to Kajen Shandar to complete the quest.

Quest Offering Kajen motions you close. "I think we will take care of Dominia before she and her thugs become more of a problem. One of my contacts said there is a man with information on her that is willing to talk. He would like to meet you outside the Snake Spit Tavern in the alley next to the tavern. Just in case, make sure to have that blade I gave you at the ready." NPC Lucy the Slasher You hear a shift of feet from the person a few feet away from you. You turn, barely bringing up the scimitar Kajen gave you in time to block the two daggers headed for your throat. You look in shock at your attacker, the woman's disturbing gaze meeting yours as you both remain motionless for a moment, looking over your crossed weapons. You swallow hard. "Excuse me. Who the hell are you?" She laughs a little, as if the question amused her. "Me? I'm Lucy. And I'm going to kill you." You take a step back, and quickly move the scimitar to parry a flurry of strikes from her daggers. You get the feeling you'll have to keep her talking or she'll just attempt to quickly finish the job. You quickly block her next strike, sense an opening, and launch a kick at her stomach, knocking her back onto the ground. You point your blade down at her. "Listen! Whatever Baljir is paying you, it isn't worth it. Do you have any idea what you are doing?" Lucy flips back onto her feet and moves in close again, offering an unnerving smile and twirling the blade in her right hand. "C'mon," she taunts, "I'm just doing my job!" You hop back as she slashes at you again. You counterattack, swinging the heavily-enchanted blade at her, forcing her to dodge and parry, nearly backing into the wall. "Baljir is a traitor! He is endangering not just the city and its people, but all of Qalia!" You bring the blade down in a chopping motion at Lucy, who crosses her daggers and blocks the attack near the hilt. "You worry too much," Lucy sneers. You start to reply, but Lucy raises her arms up quickly, pulling yours up as well, and then snaps her head back, delivering a painful headbutt. You stagger back, dazed and unfocused. You barely manage to counter her next few jabs with her weapon, trying to compose yourself before you end up getting stabbed. "Dominia is a fool, then. She doesn't even know where he is." "Shows what you know," Lucy replies indignantly. "She's with him in Hathor Zhi and ... " She trails off as if she realizes what she's said. Then nothing short of pure rage overcomes the assassin, and she lunges at you. "You! You tricked me!" she snarls, as you barely manage to shift the scimitar quickly enough to avoid being killed. Her new found anger is terrifying to behold. You sense your options are limited. As she presses the attack, an idea forms. Making sure you look frightened enough, you call out over her shoulder to nobody. "Hey! Guards! Help!" Your ruse works. Lucy's head turns just slightly and she shifts her gaze towards possible non-existant opponents. The drop in her defenses is minute, but enough for you to make your move. You grab your arm with your offhand and pull hard, throwing her off balance and into the incoming hilt of your scimitar. A sickening crack results, and blood pours down her face as she staggers back, confused and stunned. You realize you should probably not press your luck and make your escape now, since the attack only stunned her momentarily. Quest Completion When you inform Kajen of what happened, his expression grows dark. "My apologies. I should have anticipated this. I am glad you are alright. Keep that sword handy! We must bring in Baljir. He is playing games with us now." "I have a gift for you on behalf of the Sultan. Please use them wisely. Return to me when you are rested and ready to continue."
