An Initiate in the Lucent Circle must prove his or her capability in combat before being considered worthy of advancing in rank. This trial used to take place in training rings, battling the Justices of the Circle, but now we have a true foe to engage. Travel north to the tomb of Xyma and cleanse it of the filth that taints it. Return to me once you have completed this task, and you shall be rewarded with a portion of that which is required to prove yourself an Acolyte of the Lucent Circle.

Silko says, "The time has come for you to face the Tehatamani on their own ground. Take your Lucent Amulet into the depths of the largest Tehatamani pyramids and use it to activate the beacon at the pyramid's core. Once the beacon has cleansed the pyramid of Tehatamani we shall send Warriors of the Lucent Circle to hold the pyramid for as long as possible."
