Quest Offering Count Valik Remniol looks at you and says, "We have a very real diplomatic problem here in New Targonor. Or, one that is waiting to explode. Contraband from all over the world streams in here daily, and it is House Caberton that brings it in, If our ambassadors were to discover this on their own, it would certainly create unstable relations with our allies worldwide." "So, we must make sure that we inform them first. Obtain Qalian and Kojani contraband from Caberton, and show the ambassadors." Seamus McWright "Looking for Kojani Goods" You say, "Seamus McWright, are you in the selling mood?" "Depends on what you're buying," says Seamus McWright, studying you. "You may not have it, it's a bit hard to come by," you say. "Try me," says Seamus McWright. "I am well stocked." "I am looking for Dearmstones," you say. "Dreamstones?" asks Seamus McWright. "Are you trying to set me up?" You raise your hands. "No, no," you say. "I really need dreamstones. I am desperate." You feign a sob. Seamus McWright seems to relax and says, "I don't carry anything quite that hot." "Really?" you ask. "Oh no, on no..." "Look, though," says Seamus McWright," I have something else that might help." "They aren't as powerful as dreamstones, but they should do you good," says Seamus McWright. "Oh thank you, thank you!" you say, reaching our for Seamus McWright. "Don't mention it," says Seamus McWright, recoiling slightly. "Just pay me." Seamus McWright "Looking for Qalian Goods" You say, "Seamus McWright, you got time for a sale?" Seamus McWright frowns and says, "Maybe, why?" "I'm looking for some special goods," you say. "I hear you can supply special goods." "I normally deal in imports," says Seamus McWright. "Special orders, if you take my meaning." "So if you want something, I may need to order it for you," says Seamus McWright. "I see," you say, "so you don't have anything from Mekalia sitting around?" "I might, why?" asks Seamus McWright. "Well, I was just looking for something that might help me see in the dark," you say. "Ah, you're looking for the specs, are you?" asks Seamus McWright. You nod and say, "Some very strong specs." Seamus McWright says, "I over ordered that a little, so I have some. It'll cost you though." "I can pay," you say. Seamus McWright grins and says, "Then you get your specs." Faunti Kordiyeh You say, "Faunti Kordiyeh, I have something serious to discuss with you." "Oh?" asks Faunti Kordiyeh. "And what is that?" You say, "I have something here you might want to see." You show them the contraband. Faunti Kordiyeh raises an eyebrow and asks, "And where did you get that? You are aware it is highly illegal?" You nod and say, "Which is why I came to you." "What is it doing in this city," demands Faunti Kordiyeh. "Teamsters in the Caberton's district have been dealing in contraband," you say. "House Caberton? A noble House is allowing this to happen?" asks Faunti Kordiyeh. "How are they getting away with this?" "They have a lot of pull in this city, and they are good at hiding their tracks," you say. "But I fear the Cabertons may not be the culprits. They are simply unable to control everything that goes on." Faunti Kordiyeh scoffs. "Do the Remniols know of this?" demands Faunti Kordiyeh. "The Remniols insisted that I come to you and make you aware of it," you say. "They want to form an alliance against the import of illegal goods." "I am sure that in your nation, illegal goods manage to get by your authorities," you say. Faunti Kordiyeh nods and says, "It does happen, yes." "Then we both must make efforts to stop this," you say. "We will work on helping Cabertons if you work on your own smugglers. The Remniols are committed to this effort." Faunti Kordiyeh frowns and then nods, "You speak wisely. We all must work together to stop the flow of illegal goods. Still, I am not sure that the Cabertons will be welcome in our lands if they are that irresponsible about it" You smile weakly and say, "That might be for the best." Pai Jadedragon You say, "Pai Jadedragon, I have something serious to discuss with you." "Oh?" asks Pai Jadedragon. "And what is that?" You say, "I have something here you might want to see." You show them the contraband. Pai Jadedragon raises an eyebrow and asks, "And where did you get that?" You are aware it is highly illegal?" You nod and say, "Which is why I came to you." "What is it doing in this city," demands Pai Jadedragon. "Teamsters in the Caberton's district have been dealing in contraband," you san. "House Caberton? A noble House is allowing this to happen?" asks Pai Jadedragon. "How are they getting away with this?" "They have a lot of pull in this city, and they are good at hiding their track," you say. "But I fear the Cabertons may not be the culprits. They are simply unable to control everything that goes on." Pai Jadedragon scoffs. "Do the Remniols know of this?" demands Pai Jadedragon. "The Remniols insisted that I come to you and make you aware of it," you say. "They want to form an alliance against the import of illegal goods." "I am sure that in your own nation, illegal goods manage to get by your authorities," you say. Pai Jadedragon nods and says, "It does happen, yes." "Then we both must make efforts to stop this," you say. "We will work on helping the Cabertons if you work on your own smugglers. The Remniols are committed to this effort." Pai Jadedragon drowns and then nods, "You speak wisely. We all must work together to stop the flow of illegal goods. Still, I am not sure that the Cabertons will be welcome in our lands if they are that irresponsible about it." You smile weakly and say, "That might be for the best." Deacon Cunis Windwalker Jaxarth You say, "Jaxarth, you might want to look at this..." you pull out the contraband you acquired. Jaxarth's eyes widen. "Where did you get this?" asks Jaxarth. "Do you realize how illegal that is?" You nod and say, "I do, which is why I came here." "And where was it you got it?" asks Jaxarth. "From a merchant in the Caberton district," you say. "Caberton? Aren't they a noble house?" asks Jaxarth. "They are," you say, "Duke Sean Caberton is their leader." "And do you think they are aware of what is going on in their territory?" demands Jaxarth. "They may be," you say, "it's hard to imagine that they could miss this with how easily I got my hands on it." "Goods enter the city through their gate very easily and without the scrutiny at the other gates," you explain. "How irresponsible," mutters Jaxarth. "It may even be called criminal." "I think it is a leap to suggest the Cabertons themselves are responsible for the importing," you say. "But they cannot escape the accusations of negligence." Jaxarth nods and says, "Are the Remniols aware of this?" "They sent me here," you say. "They want to ally with you and the other ambassadors against this illegal good trafficking." Jaxarth nods firmly and says, "I have no doubt that with their help, we can halt this. They have a substance the Cabertons obviously do not." Quest Completion Count Valik seems to settle down a bit. "And they weren't too angry? Good," he says. [Continue] "Hopefully, if the ambassadors put some pressure on their own nations to stop the smugglers, that will help curtail Caberton's trafficking," says Count Valik.

Notes

The source recorded the finishing NPC as “a Qalian Ambassador”, which is a fragment of a sentence rather than a name -- its scraper cut the objective text mid-phrase. The field is left empty rather than filled with something that is not a name.

Another account

A second source described this quest differently. Both are kept here; neither is a correction of the other.
