"Well," says Mino, "that is all I have to pass on to you for now. I'm going to continue my studies though, and when I have new techniques to teach you, I'll have you sent back to me. For now, I believe that you're ready to be sent onto the Elders. They will know how best you can use these skills." "Introduce yourself to them. See? "Yes, she did," you say. "I hope I can be counted on to emply those techniques at least decently." "Well!" says Elder Sal. "You're going to have to be more than decent if you hope to have a chance with the wood elves." "Do you think you can do this more than decently?" asks Elder Sal with a raise of the eyebrow. "I hope so," you say. "I will work hard to hone my skills." "Good," says Elder Sal, "it's been my own personal crusade that we have one... even just one! ... representative in the council." "We aren't even asking for equal say," says Elder Sal. "Just a voice." "Do you think maybe that's the problem?" you ask. "What do you mean?" asks Elder Sal curiously. "Oh, well," you say, "you must have been very successful." "No," says Elder Irwol dryly, "actually, I wasn't, which is why we need you." "Wood elves are just so... Demanding, forceful," says Elder Irwol. "They jump straight at you and throttle you with their words." "You need to be prepared to meet them head on," he says. "I certainly wasn't..." "I will do my best," you say. "Though I plan on taking an approach very suited to our own people." "If I simply mimic their ways," you say, "they are less likely to respect me." "Very true!" says Elder Irwol. "I suppose I tried that myself a few times, and yes, it didn't work." "If you need any advice, though," says Elder Irwol, "just come to me.
