Dutchess Larinia Remniol
Quest Offering Duchess Larinia Remniol says, "I'm afraid that there has been some more trouble at the Tooth and Nail. These adventurers never learn. Go back and make a few foreful demands of them, would you?" "Go to the Tooth and Nail and kindly ask the patrons to show some respect to their hosts." "Proper Behaviour" (1) You say, "Ah, NPC, you look like you're enjoying your mug." NPC grins, raises her glass, and says, "yes, they serve a fine brew here at the Hammer and Nail." "Miss Carmine is a fine tender," you say. "That she is!" says NPC with a smile. "And yet, I hear that last week a group of adventurers started a brawl righ here in the tavern," you say. "In the course of the fight, one of Miss Carmine's ale kegs was smashed," you say. NPC frowns and says, "I think I may have heard about that..." "Just heard?" you ask. "I might have had a small part in the scuffle," says NPC guiltily. "Uh-huh," you say, "and yet you can sit here and drink from the same brew that you helped destroy?" "I had nothing to do with the ale!" protests NPC. "I was out on the terrace when that happened..." You say, "Still, you were part of the scuffle that resulted in that. You won't claim even a little guilt?" "Maybe a little," admits NPC. You nod and say, "House Shrike doesn't have to worry about that happening again, do they? They do not have to bar you from entering this tavern, do they?" NPC shakes her head and says, "No. It won't happen again." "Proper Behaviour" (2) You say, "NPC, I hear you're a capable adventurer." NPC nods and says, "More than capable. Can't you see my armor?" "You don't get this armor killing wisps," says NPC with a scoff. You nod and say, "You must feel at home here in Adventurer's Terrace, then?" NPC nods and says, "Why, it's a spot for individuals as skilled and heroic as myself to congregate enmasse. It's practically a paradise." "I have put together many good parties here," says NPC." You nod and say, "It would be a shame if it were to develop a less savory reputation." "And stop attracting such a quality crowd," you say. "What do you mean?" asks NPC. "I mean to say that there have been a few incidents here lately," you say. "Namely, a large brawl at the Tooth and Nail." "If such incidences were to continue, it might drive people off," you say. "Which would not make House Shrike very happy." And the offenders would lose their privileges here, you finish. Do you take my meaning? NPC narrows her eyes at you and says, "Perfectly." "Good," you say, "I hope you remember my words then." "Proper Behaviour" (3) You say, "NPC, taking a break from your adventures?" "Why, yes I am," says NPC. "Have you heard tales of me?" "I may have heard a story of two," you say. "Oh?" asks NPC. "Did you hear the one about how I stole into the Verdant Lurker headquarters with only a cloak to conceal my identity?" You shake your head and say, "No, not that one." "How about the time I slew one hundred Kaon?" aka NPC. You shake your head and say, "Ahh, no, not that one..." "Well, which story was it then?" asks NPC with a frown. "It was the one where you took part in a brawls at the Tooth and Nail," you say. NPC glowers and says, "Not my finest hour." "No," you say, shaking your head, "no it was not." "Do you plan on any future such endeavors?" you ask. "Well, it wasn't exactly planned," says NPC. "It just sort of... happened. On moment, we were all comparing damage per second. The next, we were dealing it!" "House Shrike does not appreciate such things occurring in their district," you say. "And they do not appreciate those who are involved. Do you plan on taking part again?" NPC shakes his head, "No," says NPC quietly. "I know it was uncouth." "Proper Behaviour" (4) You say, "NPC, that's some fine armour you're wearing. "Ins't it?" asks NPC. "I took it from the body of a Verdant Lurker commander." "Oh really?" you ask. "How did it survive so well?" "We managed to lob spells, sword swings, arrows, and all manner of other missiles at it, says NPC, beaming, "and it didn't take a scratch!" "Astounding!" you say. "So, do you come to the Tooth and Nail often?" NPC studies you for a moment and then says, "I usually swing by when I am in town..." "And you like the service here?" you ask. "Miss Carmine is a gracious host?" "Yes, yes, of course," snaps NPC. "What are you getting at?" "House Shrike has had some problems with adventurers having a little too much fun here lately," you say. "Getting a bit dissrespectful to Miss Carmine." "Why, I would never..." says NPC. "I'm sure you wouldn't," you say, "but just remember when you've had a few pints, here ale kegs are not Vertant Lurkers, and you will not be getting some shiney suit of armor from them." "Or you will quickly find yourself no longer welcome in Adventurer's terrace," you finish. "Fine," mutters NPC. "Wouldn't dream of it anyhow." "That is what we like to hear," you say. "Proper Behaviour" (5) You say, "NPC! A fine day, isn't it?" "Quite fine!" says NPC. "I am here celebrating killing my five hundredth boar!" "Five hundred?" you ask. "How do you find so many boars?" "Our lands are filled with them," says NPC, nodding seriously. "Whenever you kill one, another pops right up!" You say, "Well! I am certainly glad that there are people like you out there making sure they do not run rampant then." NPC beams and says," I do try to use my skills to benefit my community." You say, "Speaking of community, were you part of the brawl here at the Tooth and Nail last week?" NPC looks guilty. "I... may have been," says NPC. "Destroying taverns is quite a community service," you say. NPC frowns and says, "Well, I wouldn't say that it was destroyed... I mean, look around you. It looks fine." "Still, it did sustain damage," you say. "And regarless, fighting in the community only brings morale down." "There is enough fighting going on against our enemies," you say. "We don't need fighting amongst our allies." "How do you think it looks to a child who watches their hero do something so base?" you ask. "Is that someone they should look up to?" NPC sighs and says, "No... what a terrible example I must have been." NPC looks dejected. "Just clean up your act, and I am sure the community will support you," you say. NPC says, "Right! I will slay 500 more boards for penance!" Quest Completion Duchess Larinia says, "oh, it is good to see you back and in such fine health!" Duchess Larinia says, "Did you give those adventurers a good talking? I am sure that you did. This will please our friends greatly, which pleases me."
