Reptile Retribution

Go to the Gauthek village to the northwest of the West Angoer Bunker. Find and destroy large Gauthek totem jars, and steal fish from the biggest fish baskets. Return to Emil Pager at Angoer when these tasks are complete.

The Gauthek Village is in the Ksaravi Gulch chunk. Emil says, "I think I know how to fight back." "First, hmm, yes, steal the fish from the Gautheks' largest baskets. That will force them to go fishing to feed, and they won't be able to spend their time attacking people." "Second, smash their large totem jars. I don't know what they use them for, but they seem important… the Gauthek keep them in every one of their round huts. The Gauthek are more superstitious then the Skrilien tuatiren to the east, so it may strike a great blow to them." The fish and totems are only in the huts as the quest states but there is only one basket and one totem in each hut making the quest time consuming if grouped. The huts tend to have 3 or more tuatiren inside as well as 2-3 outside that wander. Emil says, "Excellent. It looks like we'll be having fish for dinner." "I'll be keeping track of the tuatiren over the next few weeks to see if your actions have a significant affect on their behavior. Yes, I hope it does." (continues) Emil says, "If this kind of strike works against the tuatiren, I'll transmit the information to the other gnomes at the other outpost bunkers in the area. We may be able to end the threat!" "In the meantime, I'm sure you can find a use for one these old pairs of bracers." He gives a waist slot even though the text states bracers.
