The way of the dragon is one of ferocity and mystical power. Dragon practitioners are taught to meet force with overwhelming force, to be unyielding in the face of opposition. Students learn the martial abilities of the dragon, which focus on high damage, high cost attacks. They also learn the mystical side of the dragon, which teaches to them leap like the cloud dragon, gleam like the sun dragon and become resilient like the stone dragon.

The way of the drunken monk is one of deception and unseen power. Practitioners of the drunken style are taught to keep themselves off balanced, striking from impossible angles and tempting opponents to strike at openings that do not really exist. Students learn to stagger about to dodge and infuriate their opponents. They also learn to use powerful counterattacks which benefit them greatly due to their evasive nature.

The way of the harmonious monk is one of redirection and debilitation. Practitioners of the harmonious style are taught to deflect their attacker's force to their own disadvantage, with the harmonious monk exerting minimal force and requiring minimal strength. Students learn to use the attacker's force and momentum against them, by leading the attacker in a direction to where the defender will be advantageously positioned and the attacker off balance; in one seamless movement.
