Use the sampling axe at 3 different building in Ksaravi Gulch to take samples of Ksaravi architecture. Bring the samples to Aryobarz Ettemini at Zarabadi Landing so that he can determine the age of the structures.

Description

Aryobarz says, "Since Zarabadi Landing is a new outpost, we don't know how long these Ksaravi have been in the Gulch. This isn't good, because if we ever want to plan a full-scale assault, that's one of those things we'll need to know." "I'd like to ask for your help with that." "Take this sampling axe, use it to chop samples from a few different structures in Ksaravi Gulch, then bring the bits to me. It'll be like doing a gnomish archaeological dig... just with the subjects still around."

Notes

This quest is marked as a group quest but can be done easily solo using the Wyvern Mount received from Modes of Transportation (http://thetelonproject.wikidot.com/adventuring-quest:modes-of-transportation) . "Take this sampling axe, use it to chop samples from a few different structures in Ksaravi Gulch, then bring the bits to me. It'll be like doing a gnomish archaeological dig… just with the subjects still around." If you are using the mount, you can land directly on top of the buildings and use the axe to chop the sample. This is by far the fastest and easiest method to complete this quest. The building locations are: Land on the roof of each building and right-click the Sampling Axe in your inventory. You will receive a Ksaravi Structural Sample from each. Return to Aryobarz to receive your reward. "Aryobarz says, "Well, now, these are interesting." "Here's a piece of flotsam taken from the beach, and this is a piece of a qaliathari wagon. This last one looks like a reworked gnomish armor plate." Aryobarz says, "As they say, a picture is worth a thousand words, but the real thing is worth ten thousand. The Ksaravi structures have been built with re-used materials, which leads me to think they were desperate and hastily built. They don't mean to use them long." "Since there are gnomish parts in the structures, they can't be more than five-years-old. That's when the gnomes started venturing out of Mekalia in numbers."
