Overview

There are three competing trading societies in Ahgram, and each offers both work orders and a line of quests that reward you with items, experience and faction.

The three societies are:

  • The Society of Invention - an organization of traders who are in business to research technology to improve the life of the people of Ahgram.
  • The Merchant's Guild - the largest organization, they are totally profit-oriented and only interested in the acculumation of wealth, to the detriment of anything else.
  • The Cabal - an unpleasent organization of individuals involved in business and dark magic, who routinely carry out murder to "harvest" body parts for their research and experimentation.

Joining a Society

To get access to the best rewards, you need to actually join one of the three societies. This is done by completing the second quest (the "Joining" quest) for the society you have selected, and then moving on to the later quests for that society. However, you can only be a member of one of the three Ahgram societies at any given time, and once you join one, you can no longer do quests for the other two, so make your choice wisely!

The choice of society should be made bearing in mind the rewards available, and it is recommended that before making the choice, look at the rewards each society offers, and also look at the New Targonor Society quests and the rewards they offer, to make decisions that nicely complement eachother. For example, perhaps choose an Ahgram society that rewards a ring and a New Targonor society that rewards an earring, and with preferably with boosts to different stats.

Gaining Faction

You may complete work orders for any or all of these societies, and you may also complete the first quest for any or all three of them. However, note that the three societies are in competition with eachother, so doing any work for one of them does to some extent harm your faction with the other two. That said, it is still possible by doing a lot of work orders to slowly gain faction with all three of them at once (although whether it is worth doing so is debatable).

Work Orders

Each of the three societies offers crafters work orders, to allow you to gain faction with that society. Details of the work orders are given on the link below.

Quest Lines

Each of the three societies offers crafters a line of four quests specific to them. Details of these are given on the links below.

  • Society of Invention Quests
  • Cabal Quests

Changing Society

It is possible to leave a society and join one of the others. If you do this, there is a +50 faction bonus for the new society you join and a -50 faction hit to the other two. However, note that when you complete the later quests for one society, it gives a significant boost to that faction and a significant hit to the other two factions, so swapping societies after that point would mean a lot of grinding work orders for faction.
