Main/ AdventuringGuide
First, our group started during pre-release and consisted of a shaman (later went hayatet), necromancer (chose lich for form), warrior, bard, sorceror and a monk who was later replaced by a druid due to rl conflicts. Also to note that initially the leveling gap you can group with is six levels, later in the game it will be expanded to seven levels below your highest group member. We haven't tried eight yet but may have to start when we hit 50. As of a current Live Update they made it six levels across the baord, five for brotherhoods. If you begin on Thestra or Kojan, your experiences may differ. Level 1 to 10Do your starting quests in your home towns. We didn't meet up until I was 11 or 12 and that was in darkhorse downs. Level 11 to 13Well as stated above we hit Dark Horse Downs for a little bit then headed South to the Beacon of Haz'Abeeb or something like that. Level 13 to 16We mainly staying in and around the Temple of Dailuk chunk for this portion. I am told there is a larger quest hub in the tent area now. We started to actually go into Dailuk's area around 14 as a full group but we still did the Caverns as well. Level 16 to 20As a group we were all logging on to try and finish up the Temple of Dailuk questlines. We spent four or five nights trying to get the Kraelix event to finish up and Dailuk to not despawn when we were killing him. As far as soloing went, Evendusk Forest? and the Coterie Infineum Sanctuary offered us the greatest xp rewards. Level 20 to 25We camped Skawlra for a long time. Completely ignored Tauthien Delta and Mekalia?. Our only diversion from this tactic was heading down into Kalendra's Coven for my FD quest and after factioning enough, doing the quests in the Upside Defense Garrison. We did hit Imanjal during this run. I would advise anyone around these levels to head down there - not only is the dungeon nice xp, but it is challenging and absolutely HUGE. Apparently after GU1 they added a new line of Hunter's League quests to the area, which will yield some great armor. Level 25 to 30Without guides or maps we bounced around a lot of different areas. Eventually we ended up in the Coterie again to finish that unique quest line. River Valley and Pantheon of the Ancients saw a lot of action from us. The first double xp weekend we were in PoA and all of us gained around three levels just grinding and doing the trials. Level 32 to 35We arrived at Cragwind Ridge just a bit late but it was still awesome experience for our group. This was the second of the two double xp weekends. I wouldn't leave this place until you do all the quests or you are 35/36. The quests are just too good to pass up on a risk v reward basis. Also a good amount of quests in Stranden now unrelated to the Bounty Hunter line that are good xp. Level 35 to 39So they added a temp teleporter to Strandan and one of us found these Bounty Hunter quests over in Seawatch Coast. Between the mino camps and River Palace it kept us all busy to 38/39. Bear in mind, the platinum even had about 4 times the amount of HPs. It was also towards the end of this phase of grinding, we were actively seeking named mobs. A full group of level 38/39 can easily take down the six dots in River Palace and Islands of Madness. It's a break from the regular grind boredom. Level 38-43We found this great chunk northwest of Graystone by the name of Plains of Anguish. There is a camp of undead that is neutral to everyone called Haven's something. You will find around 14 quests initially, some of which are repeatable and others are nested. For example, killing some of the undead sorcerers will nest into a quest to kill Cartheon Wizards and then eventually to retrieve their scrolls. However that was also doing some of the quests over in Tar Janashir and happening upon the Vault of the Hidden. Advise everyone to try that place out. 16 named all easy to get to with invis and drop very nice loot. Just be sure to keep your mobs snared. We also started working on the Greystone vengeance quests. Have not completed them as of yet but will do so and update asap. Level 44-45We visited three zones during these levels but two would probably be just fine. The Fallen Cove, Lost Canyon? and our archnemesis Greystone. Still have yet to finish up the weapon quests in Graystone but we're getting close. we did a bit in T-Harbor but found out the group needs to be 46 to really get the faction working as fast as it should be. Level 46-50Tehatamin Harbor? will open up four more quests for faction at this level. As of May, 2007 you will also want to go into the Swamps of Rumug as there is a rather large quest hub that can be soloed. It will eventually end in a quest for Hegnerian's Cloak. There are also now quests in Razad for soloers though I don't know much about them. You will also want to take one of two directions, or split time between both: Both offer named camps and heroic loot to groups farming. The former will end in a red hat, the latter will end ina red necklace with a lot of heroic goodies. You will also want to pick one of the faction quests in Thestra, which can be chosen by an NPC in Ruin Falls? who will guide you to take the Ichtakhta, Gorgalok or Flordiel factions. You can now complete your faction armors from start to finish. Good luck in your endeavors. |
