City of Mekalia
Having been driven from their ancestral home in the Deep Dark, the Gnomes have taken up residence on the deserts arid surface. Carved into the Khelium Mountains of north-eastern Qalia, the fortified, bunker-like stronghold serves as the new hub of the revived Gnome empire united again under the banner of the Underking.
Nestled beneath the bleached Qalian desert sands and amongst the massive crystal formations, Mekalia is an impressive network of open caverns and winding passages.
The city's center serves as the hub with residential structures connected by many cobblestone streets and walkways. The are is lit by a massive chrysol shard unearthed by the industrious Gnome citizens. Mekalia’s guild halls, the Arcane Hall and the Warrior Hall stand on either end of town, and the Menagerie occupies a plot to the north.
